Columbia Teachers College vs Hunter?

Please share any pluses, minuses about either school for Education/Special Ed dual degree.

I've heard that principals and teachers sometimes feel threatened by new teachers who come from Columbia as they feel they will be know it alls. Do you know if this is at all true?

What about the neighborhood that each grad school is located?

Thank you!

This belongs in the grad school threads.

How do I get onto the grad school threads?

No one ever visits the grad school thread. it is fine here. In fact CC could be better about opening this site up to grad students and their decisions - lots of potential there.

It really depends on what you are looking for and cost. Columbia TC is pricey and the aid is limited, but it is a great place obviously. Hunter is a quality affordable alternative. Are you planning a possible future academic career or is it just teaching?

Our high school has a lot of Columbia student teachers and NYU student teachers, the Columbia ones are the most knowledge; the NYU ones are the most helpful.
