Hi! I'm a freshman at NYU Stern majoring in finance and I want to transfer to Columbia university next year. I just started researching so i was wondering if anyone has any advice. Has anyone transfered from Stern to Columbia College? how'd it go? ><
-idk if the whole "standing out from the rest of the pack" thing is still emphasized but will doing something in affiliation with Columbia give me a boost? what about something like teaching an esl class in a foreign country?
-if i'm a finance major now, can i transfer as a statistics or mathematics major?

lots of questions i know, i realize its probably near impossible but i'm going to give it a try anyways. thank you guys soo much in advance!

bump for u. just curious why do you want to get out of stern

Unfortunately you are a few weeks late for the 2009-2010 academic year. The deadline for enrollment in the fall was on March 15th. :/

But to comment on the actual possibility, transferring can probably be done but I know the College doesn’t award credit for business classes. The engineering program -might- allow yo to carry some classes over if they have a financial+mathematical focus, but you’d have to look at the bulletin for the schools to see what could get moved where.

stern’s cool but i’ve always wanted to go to columbia. and i visited a friend there recently and loved it

and yea i realize i missed the transfer date for this fall but i was hoping to apply next year
