What were your stats? are you a junior or sophomore transfer? I’m kind of banking on the same thing…

Also I wonder how many apps they got? Do you guys think if I called they would tell me? I wonder why this thread is so quiet…

I can totally relate cynthiahxp and solace. But i mean its really weird for me cuz i was a total slacker in hs, however I took a class at the local CC and got a B in it during junior yr which translates to an A in hs. hopefully the units i have taken will offset my hs record and sat. I got a 4.0 in fall and a 3.5 in winter intersession (i would’ve gotten an A if I got 4 more pts. She wrote my rec so i hope it’ll make up somehow). Btw I already have 23.3 units on the transcript 38 i think? by year end. hopefully i’ll have an edge with the amount of units and great self reflective essay.

(copied from another thread)

It really doesn’t seem like there are many of us applying!! Perhaps this gives us a better shot.

malace- i sent everything in on time. they’ve all been sent out. either the stuff’s been lost in the mail or they just haven’t processed it.

I think I’m going to call them next week because on the email it specifically said do not call within the 2-4week period after the app is due.

hey, I called today and admissions said decisions won’t be released until mid-may…

Really vanwilder?? Oh, wonder where the lady I spoke with got end of April from!

Yeah I called and asked how many transfer apps were received and the rep told me that info can’t be released…

And I also got the mid-may response…but we probably got the same dude who told us mid-May. So heres hoping its actually end of April…?

well i’d actually prefer hearing after May 18. may 11 to 18 is finals week for me and the last think i would need is the feeling of distraught should (when) i get rejected :)

haha I know what you mean malice, my finals end may 14th. cynthia, maybe the person you talked to meant that the decisions would be made in april but not necessarily released then, because the lady I spoke to said they wouldn’t be RELEASED until mid-may. I don’t know how much of a delay there is between making the decisions and releasing them…

Perhaps, like I said she didn’t seem too apologetic about my worry over missing transcripts, just saying nonchalantly they had been received.
When do the other Ivy transfers release decisions? I know Cornell is mid to late April definitely, but they are not always in sync.

Is anyone else seeing these new document and messages tab in the financial aid checklist?
Finally, they are starting to review!

So my last final this semester isn’t until May 20th, meaning I’ll have a buffer week between the Columbia decision and finishing school. But I was wondering, is anyone out there in a situation where they won’t find out about Columbia until after they’ve finished with their spring semester?

meee. my last final is on the 7th :)

Anyone else get a letter asking for further financial aid information? Never knew we were required to actually send our parents’ W-2 and tax return, as well as fill out a CSS Financial Aid Profile… Always figured the FAFSA did it. At least that’s how it worked for my current school’s financial aid office.

how will we be notified? via email or will we have to check the website?

As this thread is pretty dead, I wonder how many applicants there are for transfer admission this year! Hopefully not too many =]

cynthia…there will always be a lot of applicants to columbia in any given years, regardless of the number of CCers applying. Sigh I wish 99% of the applicant withdrew their apps so that i could greatly improve my admissions chances…

melonbread91, please allow me my very wishful thinking, it’s all I have whilst I play the waiting game!! =]

Just FYI, last year they also said decisions would be released in “mid-May,” but on April 28th, they emailed us saying we could check our decisions online (not where you normally click for app status, but on a separate, new link). Don’t mean to get people’s hopes up, but just sayin’. Sometimes they work a little quicker.

Not holding out too much on Columbia since they didn’t want me last year, but hey, stranger things have happened I suppose. Best of luck to all of you as well!
