Columbia Transfer Fall 2010

i know we’re all so anxious, it’s like… we can’t complain enough haha

i’m just trying to keep myself busy w/ my current school work :[

I got the email saying they need more financial statements including parents’ W-2. Today I checked the status and new financial aid tab appeared. Does that mean anything? Tell me no immediately!!

April 28? That seems incredibly early

i’d rather it be early? who wouldnt

I am not going to even THINK about the April 28th being a possibility, don’t want to jinx it and be super disappointed if I don’t hear anything!

And somniSH, they actually sent me an email with missing things and there’s a little tab on the aid selfservice for messages and missing documents, I think this might be for everyone, as financial aid is separate. (Though of course, I hope for our sakes it means acceptance, I just doubt it)

you can log onto the financial aid thing?

-edit

oh nvm, I never made a pin, hah interesting :P

i got the reply from them. the decision may come out on May 14…
Rutgers University, freshman, College GPA: 3.82…HS: 4.0. i got full marks in SAT 2, but not good in SAT 1 Reading…:(

is there a facebook page yet for those who applied?

I doubt anyone has even been accepted yet so unless you mean for applicants only, I don’t think so.

@daisyday: Thanks for the info =)

april 28th? jeez that would kind of kill my week.

It definitely can kill your week, especially since I’m expecting at least two other rejections by the end of the week. sigh I hate this admissions game.

haha , i need decisions to be released in midmay so that i can brace myself for the gnawing souldestroying hellfiresque disappointment.

No, I’d rather not know unless it’s an acceptance. I want to remain in my OMG,UCLA ACCEPTED ME ECSTATIC TRANCE

well i mean midmay is better than april 28. and congrats on ucla, very cool! i was thinking of applying, but the oos tuition is ridiculous. darn why can ny have publics as good as ucla and ucb :/

because you guys have broadway =) I’d rather not have midmay since my parents are still pretty happy about UCLA (I have to live at home…), the rejections will be handled easier. At least that’s what I hope.

ehhh ny is good but cali has beautiful weather, ucla/ucb/stanford, and less uptight people.

although columbia ,along with broadway, is a major part of ny’s appeal ;)

if you are talking about good weather, you really should limit it to SoCal since up north, it could get pretty unpleasant. We also have paparazzi, too many wannabe celebrities with no talent shudders

NY also is a fashion powerhouse and as a girl, I think that rocks =)

well, it’s really hard to get into NY fashion week though. i got to watch one of the shows but failed in getting into the marc jacobs one this past feb. not like i could afford marc jacobs, but i like drooling over the clothes whenever i windowshop at bloomie’s.

hey all I was wondering if you think I have a chance at transferring into the College with these facts.

I’m currently a freshman at the Elliott School of International Affairs at The George Washington University
Credits (inc. current semester): 35
GPA: (fall semester classes only, shouldn’t change significantly): 3.69
U.S. Army ROTC 4-Year Scholarship Awardee. One of the best first-year cadets in the battalion demonstrated by multiple awards I’ve received (which I noted on the application).
proud member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and Knights of Columbus.

Other stats:
SAT: 1470/1600 and 2180/2400
Received the full International Baccalaureate Diploma (although my scores on a few of the exams were kind of low)
HS GPA: 4.06 weighted, unknown unweighted. Top 10% of class though.

Thanks,
Irish
