I'll guess we'll wait and see. He said he had a few weeks to decide, so I'll ask him about it then.

Would be a shame if he had lied though, since he always appeared to be an upright kid lol.

maybe it was a different columbia like the one in chicago lol

Well if they aren't playing an April Fool's joke then ask them how their letter arrived. If they say USPS, they're flat out lying. Columbia sends out acceptance packages via DHL.

ok honestly, enoughs enough, dont even consider the fact that they accepted this guys friend or whatever, it did not happen..

he may have meant the GS --> Columbia School of General Studies. look it up online. a lot of community college kids, or students with non-traditional educational paths, try and transfer there after 2 years of CC or millitary service, etc.

they don't start reviewing tranfers for another week or so.

Maybe. I haven't done much research on Columbia, so I'm not sure what the difference between GS and "normal" Columbia undergrad is. From the website it seems like GS is a normal part of Columbia's undergrad. Program and you get your Bachelor's there, wouldn't that mean it's just as selective and decisions should be sent out at the same time?

Another possibility is that he applied as a freshman, since his decision came exactly when freshman decisions were sent out (I think they were sent out last Monday). But from what I know it's not even possible to apply as a freshman after attending CC for 2 years, at least not without hiding one's CC time. His HS transcript was pretty bad, so it's rather unlikely that he'd get in.

And, well, third possibility is of course that he's lying. I just can't find any reason why he would do that, since I didn't even ask him if he got in, he was the one who contacted me. Next time I meet him I'll definitely ask some more questions ; )

Why someone would lie about being admitted to one of the top schools in the country? You seriously can't guess why ;).

I know someone who apparently got a full-ride to Princeton and "deferred it" for a year of working at Wal-Mart...which then turned into 4.

nobody cares or atleast shoudlnt, stop posting about it thomas

Good luck to all of you who applied anyway, sorry if I made some of you worried/excited ; )

yea im sorry too, its just that youre making us all crazy, its my fault, if i wanted the time to pass faster i woudlnt come here lol

Does Princeton not allow deferrals?
