-Compete in Submission Fighting tournaments. This is a martial art, called Jiu- Jitsu. Won gold in various tournaments.

-Track Varsity
-Church Youth Group Leader, play guitar for it.
-100+ hours , irrelevant
-Dental Experience w/ my renown family dentist. Interviewed him many times.
-Cultural Trip to China 3 weeks</p>

1. Guidance Counselor - Amazing. Me and her are tight as hell and sometimes I'd talk to her about something not academic related. Homies. She has "profound respect" for wrestlers.</p>

<li><p>AP Chem Teacher- eh I did ok. Got an A then got a B 2nd semester. He likes me. WE are both athletes. Had 25 ED rec letters but chose to do mine earlier.</p></li>
<li><p>AP Stats: Bs'd this class and got A's both semesters and a 5 on the test. We are extremely cool and she is really really chill. I'm not too sure about this cause I was an idiot in her class, not being too serious.</p></li>

<p>-I'm very poor. Single parent, and she is unemployed too. Qualify for all fee waivers. Tell me scholarships I can get!</p>

<p>ESSAYS:
-Fighting / Wrestling / Mixed Martial Arts. i like it.
-Family, being first born son in a very traditional family. still working on it. my grandparents had 4 kids, all had daughters. and then my dad made a son. lot of stress. then my parents are divorced. so i live with my mom. trying to piece it all together. AH GOTTA GO TO CHINESE SCHOOL. THANKS GUYS</p>

<p>You have good SAT scores and GPA but your EC is a little bit standard and does not stand out…maybe you can elaborate your EC in your essays…

<p>Oh and I believe I have quite a unique EC: Mixed Martial Arts. It’s a legitimate sport that puts together Kickboxing, Boxing, Wrestling, and Submission Techniques into an all-in-one fight sport:</p>

<p>Best in my school, placed 1st in tournaments for my weight class. I don’t know any other champions in this sport while maintaining decent grades. MMA turned my life around profoundly… my essay reflects this.</p>

<p>I always thought of it more as a hook than as a normal EC. Thoughts?</p>

<p>I think you have a really good shot everywhere you apply, and the low reach/reaches are just because it’s such a toss up at those schools. Good luck!!!</p>

<p>VERY GOOD SHOT at UCB, UCLA, UCSD and NYU. Keep up the good work. Not too sure about getting a rec from a teacher who doesnt see you as serious. This will further validate the claim, “Im smart but Im lazy.” Considering your scores, you are smart academically and if this teacher really likes you as a student then go ahead and get that rec from AP stats teacher.</p>

<p>ECS are o but if you’re so intent on pre-dental it would help to have more dental-related things there. That being said, I you should get into Lehigh (the school at least, program I have no idea) easily.</p>

<p>Rank? You really stand out for an asian male, and i think you have good chances at every school you listed. Columbia will obviously be a reach, Upenn you have a better chance, as it is for everyone. Wouldnt be surprised at all if you got into at least one of the two though.</p>

<p>i really have no idea about the dental programs, but i know most accelerated med programs are very hard to get into. columbia and upenn will be reaches, but upenn will be much more realistic. your EC’s dont really stand out, especially for an ivy league applicant. if you get an ACT of 34+, i would submit the ACT rather than the SAT.</p>

<p>i think you have a pretty solid chance at all schools; all the ivies will be reaches just because but i’d say Columbia is your best bet out of the ivies
