Well, she couldn't really understand my question...so I had to repeat it and I said "Can you tell me when the early decision applicants will be notified of acceptance/deferral/ etc?" and she responded "Next Thursday."

Yeah, I freaking out about my other applications. I mean most of them are complete, but I didn't spend nearly as much time thinking about my responses as I did on the Columbia application...

i didnt know there were still people who thought there was gonna be an email telling us the day. i had pretty much given up on that fact on friday after 5p when there was nothing in my inbox.

i still have to write a whole other essay for brown if i get rejected/deferred. so thats another reason im hoping to get in. because it took me forever to just write my one columbia essay.

just to clarify:
whatever day the decisions come out, we should know at or just after 5pm, yes?
if so, i won't have to worry about checking my email every 5 minutes during school on thursday and friday...
if not, well, i'll just take a lot of bathroom breaks on those days :-P

I just set up a filter in my Gmail that will forward any emails containing the word 'Columbia' to my cell phone. Every time it vibrates I'll probably jump..

thank god i have my blackberry to constantly keep me connected to the outside world during the day...
the only downfall to my plan is that during english class, i've previously gotten in trouble for phone related problems (my alarm has gone off twice in the class, since i've forgotten to change it back 2 hours after the weekend), and i'm frightened to even have the battery in it during the class now... so maybe i'll just be extra stealthy and turn my alarm off... haha so revolutionary, right? but seriously, it may present a major problem if i get caught checking it during that class. i keep trying to convince myself that 49 minutes without connection isn't crucial to finding out if i'm into Columbia or not... it's not working. who knows? maybe that 49 minutes could be the time they send out decisions! eep!
