I thought I heard somewhere Columbia's rejection and acceptance letters look the same size-wise? Actually, I think it was a thread on this forum too. Search?

oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god!! I'm nervous already !!!! I'm going to be too scared to open that email when I get it

ahhh finally joining this forum =]
im a fellow EDer and can not waitttt until decisionss!!!!
i had my interview already, which i thought went pretty well so good luck to those of you who are headed to yours =]

also guys, i dont know if this was answered yet, but i emailed my state admissions rep about the whole first quarter grades thing because our grade just came out and word for word, she said " in terms of your grades for an Early Decision application, if you have them available please send them as soon as you can and we will add them to your file – even if it is after November 1. "
so hope it helps. im guessing im just going to go to my guidance counselor tom and ask her to send them? they werent that bad, but more bs than usual. but i have 6 APs this year and an outside college course. did you guys have a better first quarter?

and I know decisions come out dec. 15, and from what ive read on the ED for 2012, the decisions came out online i think by email, and then they mail you a letter later.

question...how do you find out who your admissions rep is?

I went to a program at Columbia and they gave me a sheet with all of the reps and what regions they read. It should be on the website somewhere though?

edit: ok it's here http://www.studentaffairs.columbia.edu/admissions/sites/admissions/files/webfm/counselor_newsletter.pdf
it's the 5th page, I believe

Hmm.. I have 5 AP courses this year and they're all 90's minus physics which is kickin my ass, but I managed an 89 somehow. Sigh. Other than those classes I'm taking economics... which is a regents class, and therefore, naptime.

thanks alejis!

yaaa only a few weeks left. had my interview the other day. went very well. how important slash how much sway do you think the interviewer has on a decision?

They claim that the interview doesnt really affect much. I'm guessing it could push someone in who is super borderline though. who knows.

and yeaaaaaaa a few more weeks, thank god, but im not feeling too confident anymore! :( kind of feel like i should start filling out more of my regular apps...haha

... is anyone here from nyc??

I used to be, a long time ago. I lived in Morningside Heights, actually, a block away from columbia.

i know what you mean! i'm holding off on all other apps right now because im really just not interested in these other schools, but i'm so nervous! i don't know if i should just get over it and start on them!

ya. i'm in the same boat as you. i have no desire to do any more apps. but i know if worse comes to worse it's gonna suck to have to get them all done.

yeahhh especially over christmas break. i'd rather get them all done just so i can at least have christmas break to relax and get over my disappointment if it doesn't work out.

i cant figure out how to start my other apps... i keep thinking about columbia and coming back this forum lol... just gotta get my self to start the other apps somehow. Any advice?

ahh i'm freaking out. after reading all of this, i've just realized that i need to go send my first quarter grades and ap scores.

and my interview is monday. deeeeeep breath. good luck to everyone.

p.s. i'm on the same boat when it comes to doing other apps. i've pretty much ignored them.

yeah, plus I'm not going to spend all of that money for what may turn out to be no reason. But yeah, if I don't get in it's going to be even harder, I don't know how I'm ever going to fill out those other apps.. I really hope I don't have to..

yeah, the same thing happened to me! this forum is good for that kind of stuff! you realize that you're missing things that you didn't even know you had to send in. I ended up sending my AP scores and first quarter grades like 2 days ago, all because of this forum.. phewww THANKS GUYSS

just don't think about columbia when you're filling out the other apps. pretend it has nothing to do with whether you get into columbia or not. and then, if you do get in, you just don't need to submit them! yay!
