@bagelboy oh that’s awesome! if your conversation ever dips off then you always have france to talk about haha
@1984ad Thanks for the reply I’d love to hear how your application process is going and hoping that we are peers in Uni, may I ask what your intended major is?
@bagelboy I would love to hear how your interview goes, my interviewer is an alum from the class of the early 90s.
@TomTanJoseR2022 I’m planning on a political type of major
Just wondering if any of you guys are physical science majors?
As we get closer to the decision release date, will we be notified of the exact date? Or will I just randomly get an email mid-December that decisions are out?
@swimv1017 I believe we receive an email very early on in December letting us know of an exact date
@swimv1017 But, at this time, I’m predicting a Dec 11 release date
@1984ad Great, thank you!
How long should I wait before I contact them that I haven’t received my portal ID? I only submitted yesterday since I had an extension.
If I were you I would wait till 11/20/2017 at the latest if you submitted your application just yesterday. Are you able to access your portal with the Application Check List? @AcademiaSavvy
@AcademiaSavvy I waited like 5 days for mine. Eventually I had to forcibly receive it by trying to log in on the site and clicking “forgot my pass” or something. I agree with @TomTanJoseR2022 that you should maybe wait a few days
@TomTanJoseR2022 No, how do I access the portal? The only emails I have received are from Common App verifying that I submitted it.
@TomTanJoseR2022 Okay, I found out how to get into the portal and I see my Application Checklist. It says that it has received my Common App, but is swaiting for my teacher recs, supplementals, and school report, but I turned it all in through Common App. Has it just not processed yet?
@AcademiaSavvy Are you sure you submitted the supplements? Those should’ve been sent through another Common App time at the time of submission, and sometimes people forget to send them. The other stuff may just still be processing, but I’m not sure why it’s taking this long.
@AcademiaSavvy in regards to the supplements my school sent them through Naviance, they make you go to your guidance councilor and have them send your 9-11 transcript, Teachers Letters of Rec, and school report. Then you need to submit your official SAT/ ACT scores if you are admitted as they made it so you claim your scores. Did you do ED? because I know that RD is now up and students are applying RD now, because if you are applying ED then you also need an Early Decision Contract signed by yourself and parent also I think GC. Hope that helps!
@1984ad Did you sent the letters of Rec, school report, and transcript (9-11) through the common app or a site like Naviance or directly through your guidance counselor? If you don’t mind me asking.
@TomTanJoseR2022 My letters of rec were uploaded through Naviance, and my school sent them along with my transcript/school report/etc. My supplements were submitted by myself through the common app, and I don’t believe there’s any other way to send them
@1984ad Yeah, sorry my school we call everything but the actual common application supplement materials, Massachusetts is interesting…
@1984ad @TomTanJoseR2022 I applied ED on Common App. It says on Common App I submitted by supplementals, ED agreement, and common app for Columbia. It also says my teachers submitted their recs and my counselor attached my transcripts along with his rec too. This is what it says on the application checklist:
Received Common Application
Awaiting ED Agreement
Received
Awaiting School Report
Received Standardized Test Requirement (ACT or SAT)
Awaiting Teacher Recommendation 1
Awaiting Teacher Recommendation 2
Awaiting Writing Supplement
@AcademiaSavvy Yeah, it will take them just a few days to process them and match your Application with your materials. You should be fine, I would wait maybe 5 or 6 days to call if they haven’t appeared. But so far it looks great! Best of luck!
