Columbia University Fall 2012 Transfer Chances?

Hey guys, hope this thread finds members of the forum well.

I am a freshman at Vanderbilt looking to transfer into either Columbia's School of Engineering or General Studies as a sophomore for Fall 2012.
I'm in Vanderbilt's College of Arts and Sciences, but my real academic interests lie in Physics and Engineering. I got an A in first semester Physics for Physics Majors.
Here's how I look:

First semester:
Overall GPA 3.66
Dean's List
Physics 121a-- 4.0 (5 Credits)
Multivariable Calculus-- 3.0 (3)
Italian 103-- 3.67 (3)
Ethics 105-- 3.67 (3)

High School:
Senior Year GPA 4.3
Junior Year 3.8.
(I slacked during 9th and 10th grade, but I think my transcript displays an upward trend)

SAT 2130 (1450) (680, 770, 680) Took it once two years ago, should I retake it? I bet I could do a lot better, something around 2250/2300.
SAT Math II 800
SAT Physics 730
AP Calculus AB 5
AP Calculus BC 4

Other than my interest in physics and overall academic record, I consider myself a well rounded student and person in general. I lettered in 3 varsity sports all 4 years of high school (Golf, Basketball, and Tennis) and was the Captain of all three teams my senior year. I've played competitive golf for as long as I can remember and was considering offers to play in college, but decided to take the best academic route available to me in Vanderbilt, to which I applied early.
I have many extracurricular interest including piano, languages (I got an A- in Intermediate Italian first semester with no experience with the language whatsoever and am studying in Italy this summer), writing (I've written a novel and plan on writing an Ernest Hemingway-style novel while in Italy), and photography.

Here's my real issue. I know I would be happy in either of Columbia's Schools, but I'm not sure to which school I would be a more attractive applicant. I am a good physics student and have developed an interest in Computer Engineering this semester, but I have many interest that extend beyond science and I think that I could express this in my application. I also feel that I could write great responses to the supplement questions, which I know are integral parts of my application as a transfer applicant.

Again, I would appreciate any and all advice however brief or lengthy as I progress through this process.

Many thanks,
Tim
