Still haven’t submitted my mid term report, it’s probably too late now isn’t?
@Neurophile It’s a bit late, I think mid-term reports generally due around mid-April.
@neurophile I’d still send it if I were you. Especially if your semester goes into late May or even early June.
Guys, I can’t login to my application status page. Says wrong username/password combo. I have them remembered on my browser. Is this happening to everyone else too?
I can log in but the portal has changed for me. Has it changed for other people?? It now says transfer application 2017 and I have to press on it
@physicssalvation I can still access mine
I can still access my portal but it hasn’t changed besides the disappeared checklist.
@physicssalvation you should reset your password. mine still works perfectly fine.
@greysanatomy3113 yes. Columbia said that this change would happen, it does not mean anything.
@packman012 @greysanatomy3113 funny seeing you guys on this thread, too haha
I want them to send the email already!!
I think sometimes the Columbia Admissions Officers look at this thread and enjoy the amount of power they have.
What’s taking them so long
Do you guys think colleges like Columbia would really look into applicants’ social media profiles? I know it’s supposed to be a rumor but you never know.
Pretty sure they don’t unless you give them reason to. They have too many applications to go through.
Received an email yesterday with an update to the app. I was accepted No info on financial aid or maybe I just can’t find the link. Anyone else receive an offer of adm?
Also haven’t posted on the thread before so here’s my stats: high school dropout, former military 5 yrs Marine Corps, served in special operations, bad spine injury, now 40% disabled but can walk unassisted after a lot of therapy. At a community college for 2 years in California, with about a 3.85 gpa setting academic records e.g. 24 units 4.0 in one semester. 1350 New SAT. Served in various clubs: student gov, veterans club etc… I’ve gotten acceptance offers UCLA (Business Econ), UCI (Econ), UCSD (Econ-mgmt science), and still waiting on UC Berkeley Haas and Yale.
Oh and in my essays I spoke about the abhorrent lack of Latino representation in congress and the current status of immigration reform. I’m the son of a former illegal immigrant- now naturalized- and I plan on becoming an immigration attorney and then a Senator/House Rep for congress. Columbia has an amazing legal dept notable in their recent immigration cases and partnership with an organization called KIND that helps immigrant children who would otherwise not have legal representation. For those reading looking for advice in future admission, this is arguably the most important part: your purpose for wanting to study there and what you will contribute to the student community. Also don’t forget to thank the admissions team for taking the time to evaluate your application.
@RICOLAA Sounds like you got one of their veterans spots. Congratulations and thank you for your service!!
For others - this acceptance was from a different “pool” than the rest of us. Columbia takes their veterans into another pool altogether and admission from that pool seems to be rolling. None of us having heard anything yet doesn’t mean anything.
When will our decisions come out? @mjr2013
Pretty sure RICOLAA applied to the School of General Studies, which has a different application process from CC and SEAS. FYI, GS isn’t just for veterans, although there are many; it’s for nontraditional students in general.
