@studboy97 @tnufas I got rejected from UPenn today as well! Quite nervous considering Columbia has a lower acceptance rate. BUT, just today I came across an old thread where an applicant was rejected by NYU while accepted to Cornell. Anything is possible.

@LAtonewyork absolutely, I was talking to my friend at Columbia. Last year she got rejected from Penn but got in Columbia. Keep your chin up boss @tnufas
You guys need to remember that these schools are typically looking for a specific type of person. Some of my family friends have gotten rejected by Northwestern and NYU and been accepted by Stanford and Harvard. You never really know what could happen.

Rejected from Penn as well. Not gonna lie, I cried so hard after. Second time applying, second time having my dreams crushed. I guess some things just aren’t meant to be…

@ajaxo710 Yeah, rejections are tough. But, I think you should be proud of the fact that you had the guts and determination to try to achieve your dreams again.
I wish all of you good luck with decisions today/tomorrow (I’m not really sure what your time zones are). It has been nice to share our frustrations with the transfer application together.
Those asking about financial aid and why it’s blank you have to submit two separate forms- new student scholarship and one with expected studies info and what aid you’re seeking- that are available in the financial aid portal and links below admission letters to financial aid letter. Login for financial aid portal is with the CUID in your admission letter and your birthdate, it might also ask for other forms like IRS transcripts. After all the info is submitted then the weekly committees considers aid. I was also freaking out last week when I saw a blank financial aid but staff assured me it was ok. The sooner you turn the financial aid stuff and housing requests in the better.
I was also rejected yesterday from Yale but accepted to Columbia. The essay I wrote to Yale was incredibly strong, my best ever, along with my extensive credentials and impressive letters of rec, however I’m sure they couldn’t get past my new SAT 1350 score. Apparently people study for years for that stupid thing and take prep course and take it multiple times. I just walked in on a Saturday morning whim lol.

It sounds sappy, but everyone please know your value as a person and as an academic will NOT be determined by the decision announced tonight. Some of us will be accepted, many will not, and life will move on. It WILL be okay.
