<p>in fact, rejection from columbia is statistically favored. if you get in, you've beaten a lot of odds and somehow managed to get through the odd and subjective admissions process.</p>

<p>and if you don't get in, you're in good company with about 18,000 other very smart people who will also be rejected later. and you may get in to a school you like even better.</p>
