Columbia University secondary school final report

Today, I suddenly realized that the secondary school final report is in the requirement list for transfer admission to Columbia University (in NYC). But since most universities do not require this form and I saw a thread said that last year (Fall 2011) it was not required. So is there anybody called Columbia and know exactly whether the school report is necessary?

Thanks in advance!

That’s strange…I’m pretty sure most colleges require it if you’re transferring in as a sophomore. If you’re transferring in as a junior, then it’s usually not required. Plus it would make sense for a school like Columbia to look at both hs and college data (for soph transfers) so that they can make an informed decision.

Thank you esthetique for your reply. However, when I said the “secondary school final report”, I meant the School Report form on Common Application. I have sent the high school final transcript, which included my courses, GPA, ranking, etc. So I’m confused if the form is also necessary.

On Columbia’s website, it says:
•An official high school transcript (from all schools attended)
•The Common Application Secondary School Final Report

Anybody knows?

Edit: I’m transferring in as a sophomore.
Thanks!

I’m pretty sure you do because the Common App 2ndary School form says you have to attach your transcript to it, and your counselor has to say that you had a clean disciplinary record in hs.

Thank you, esthetique!

To add to what esthetique said, I had called the admissions office back in January and was told that you need the final secondary report… All they really care about is your final HS transcript. Before Columbia switched to the common app it used to only require the final HS transcript. If your guidance counselor wishes he/she can attach a recommendation, but that is not required.

I called Columbia today. The person said that final high school transcript is enough and the school report form is not necessary. Anyway, thank you esthetique and MJG678 for your help!
