As I live in New York I was hoping I would get the acceptance package yesterday, Saturday, but no luck. I guess they mailed them late in the day on Friday. I am really hopeful it comes on Monday as I want to see the information related to transfer credits and especially FA. I’ll let you know when I receive it, and others should do the same so that people in various areas will have an idea of when to expect it. I hope it comes soon as the reply date is June 1st. Hope you are all enjoying the weekend.

^Did anyone receive the package yet?

I live in Canada and received it this morning I opened the door when the DHL employee was already leaving and I yelled after him realizing what package he probably had :P

Did you have to sign for it? I also hope the contents made you happy! :+D

Yeah I did - so not used to snail mail, it was really exciting Yeah all my credits transferred so that was good. I’m hoping I can petition for Global Core credit…
Did you get yours ?

I haven’t gotten my packet yet ! -_-. I really hope they didn’t send it to my school address; I just got a packet from Penn in the mail today at home, so hopefully they’re all just sending it here.

I haven’t been home yet. I hope they sent it by regular mail in the US as I wasn’t home to sign for anything! I will let you know later. I don’t mean to pry, but did you apply for financial aid?

Oh I haven’t received Penn’s yet !! Ah.
No FA. I’m just always scared it’s hard to be 100% need blind ):

Has anyone else received their package? I’m worried they might have sent it to my college address…which no longer works haha.

Anyone know how long the waitlist is supposed to be and if there’s any chance of us getting off it?

Accepted :). Got rejected from Penn earlier, so this was certainly a pleasant surprise!

me too starlight2010!!

has anyone got his/her transfer credit evaluation?

yes, it was in the acceptance packet

Did anyone get a second packet from Columbia in the mail ?? I missed a package from the same courier service today but I have no idea what it is. I have to wait until Monday before they come back… the suspense is not fun ):

ldh, I got a letter from the head of transfer admissions but it certainly wasn’t a package. Can we talk about the big, important things now – HOUSING. Where do you all think you’ll live, and why are you leaning toward that particular hall?

If you dont mind, what was the letter for ?
Housing… single in Furnald sounds good… but I doubt there would be any left ): there are so many options !
What are you thinking ?

Hey ldh, I was a bit confused at first as the letter seemed fairly generic, but after I read more I realized it was basically the dean saying that he’d read through my file, really liked me and advocated strongly on my behalf. He said he thinks “[I am] an amazing match for Columbia,” and that I would benefit greatly from both the school and living in New York. It was nice.
I agree that Furnald seems very nice, but I’d also be ok with most of the other dorms…I’d like to be on campus, though. I wish there were some way to see what housing is left available. On the housing page I know it said something about them liking to put transfers together, so I’m guessing there’s a fair chance we’ll end up in the same place; I just hope it’s a good place, haha.

Congrats to all who got in!

The University newspaper’s website has really helpful housing tips (you can read students’ reviews of each dorm, etc.) here: [The Shaft | Spectrum](http://spectrum.columbiaspectator.com/category/the-shaft/page/6)
