Columbia University Transfer Fall 2011

Question: Have you guys gotten emails from columbia since you first submitted common app and they gave you your online ID number?

I kinda have the feeling my app was incomplete because last i checked back in march, there was a teacher rec and i think the dean report missing, but IDK. I never bothered to check again since march because I always thought they were still rifling through the materials and would notify me if i was lacking something.

My other transfer schools evntually received everything, but i never checked COlumbia.

I have received no notification about the impending release whatsoever

PLZ HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

^ Yes, I got an ID number to check my stuff and it says all the materials were received.

@collegefreak1: I got a mail notifying something was missing. So if you didn’t get one… then I think your app was complete.

Just got the official email !!

“…We plan to post all decisions on Friday, May 13, 2011, after 5:00pm (Eastern Time). Please click here to receive your decision…”

Good luck everyone :D

^
Thanks for confirming that.
I was scared that it was the decision already, and was too scared to open it yet haha.

Haha I thought that too and hesitated for a bit :P

Don’t forget to request a password! Good Luck!!

imo it should be mandatory to post the books/films you listed on your application when you post whether you got in or not.

jk. but I definitely spent a huge amount of time on my lists, and I definitely did a good job encapsulating who I am (for better or for worse – hopefully columbia likes ‘who I am’) with the books & movies I provided.

just got rejected from penn… that gives me basically no shot at columbia tomorrow… sukkksssss

@transfer9858: don’t let that bring you down! i had totally given up on getting into an ivy after being rejected by Cornell, Brown, and Harvard, but today I got into Penn. Don’t give up! You still have a good chance of getting into Columbia :)

Congratulations philgirl! Way to go!

@philgirl: I thought you were accepted to Cornell? Coz I saw your name in the acceptance list.

Hahaha…my heart stopped because the email looked almost identical to a rejection I got not long ago.

@philgirl That’s awesome. Congrats!

@MindGravity: nope, I was rejected :frowning: my name is on a list of a bunch of cornell applicants who either got in or were rejected though.

@CarpeDiemAlways: thanks so much!!! :)

@BostonCrmPie: Thanks so much, BCP!!! :)

@Carpediem - what do you mean request a password?? For what?

@ Philgirl: Congratulations!! What school are you planning on entering at Penn?

Only 19 more hours according to that countdown clock that someone created a few pages back. Best of luck to everyone applying.

@LondonKim, In the email Columbia sent they gave you a Pin Number and a link to go to so that you may request a password. They then send you another email and then you click on a link and create a password. You need both the pin and password to check your decision tomorrow. Check your email. The link you need to create your password is the same you will use to get your decision tomorrow.

Good Luck!!

Thanks man! I really hope i get into Columbia because nyu stern’s fin-aid package blows

Good Luck! I totally agree about NYU!

I clicked on the link to request a password, but I never got an email about how to make a password… did people already get the second email?
