Columbia v. Brown

what do you guys think?

because your other posts indicate you're not looking for objective fact by fact comparisons, and because your question is extremely vague and nonspecific, i'll just lay out an equally nonspecific, but well-established subjective comparison...

old school blue-blooded new englanders, prep schoolers, and (ironically) private-schooled manhattenites seem to think brown is more prestigious. to those truly in the know, they are neck-in-neck, so much so that columbia has made recent attempts to start a formal rivalry. for the rest of the world, they will either have never heard of either school or won't make distinctions between schools in the ivy league

In fact, all the buzz at Columbia is about trying to goose up a rivalry with PRINCETON, not Brown.

<a href="http://www.columbiaspectator.com/vnews/display.v/ART/2005/09/30/433cce9d598a8?in_archive=1%5B/url%5D">http://www.columbiaspectator.com/vnews/display.v/ART/2005/09/30/433cce9d598a8?in_archive=1</a></p>

Princeton is not excited about the prospect, however. Tired of being an afterthought for Harvard and Yale, Princeton is thinking the previously unthinkable: playing up a rivalry with PENN!

Aeoguy clearly thinks Columbia is superior, but he is seriously mistaken. Brown is a much better college experience in my opinion.

Brown, obviously.

attempt to start a rivalry w/ brown

Haha... that was written by a good friend of mine. He's a funny guy. About to graduate, unfortunately.

lol, dcircle, that's hardly an attempt to start a 'formal rivalry' :-P

Obviously, all the Brown kids are going to say Brown, while Columbia kids will say the opposite.

This is the original Spectator article that prompted Brown's response (that dcircle posted).

Haha. K Stein's letter was much wittier.
