Columbia vs Yale (Undergraduate Physics)

Hello guys! I have been accepted to Yale and Columbia and intend to major in Physics. I have been doing some research on the two departments but I haven’t really concluded if there is a major difference academics-wise. It would be really helpfull if you could share with me what you believe is better and why. Thank you very much for your time!

You are correct that the differences in the quality/reputation of the physics departments is minuscule. You can get a truly outstanding physics education at either. You should make the decision based on overall fit.

^^^ especially for undergrad ^^^

You have 2 great choices

Thank you! I held this belief as well but wasn’t really sure about it. The main reason is that Columbia has a very small Physics Department. I am not sure if this is purely beneficial (lower student-faculty ratio), or if it also implies that the university mainly focuses on graduate students.
