COLUMBIA HAS ALREADY CONTACTED ME VIA PHONE AND SET UP AN INTERVIEW AS WELL.

What are my Chances?? any imput would be fantastic

if they already want to interview you then it means you already have a chance

Ok, so first of all, lets talk about one of the last things you mentioned: legacy status and donations. How much does your father donate? Is it just a couple hundred a year? Or is it hundreds of thousands, or millions? If it is a very, very large sum of money you have a good shot, like the rest of the people that buy their way into college. If not, I don’t think you have a shot.

Your GPA is quite low for Columbia, and your ACT is also low. Your EC’s are interesting, but nothing special enough to make up for your low grades/test scores.

Oh, and being contacted for an interview doesn’t mean anything. Getting an interview isn’t based on whether you have a good shot or not.

Basically what wavetech said. You automatically get contacted for an interview at most schools when you reach a certain part of the application process. Your stats are extremely low, and although your ECs are strong they are not strong enough to make up for the low stats.

You’mr stats aren’t extremely low for ED, in fact you’re only below by .1
Good luck

Your GPA is very low. Your ECs are unique, but not that outstanding. However, the donations may help you. Without getting too personal, let me just say yes, a wing named after your father (or grandpa) might get you in. But just a couple thousand, I would say no.

I didn’t even have an interview and I got in ED, so really, let’s not use an interview as a factor. An interview in this case, probably means you are borderline and want to know more about you.

It could happen, depending on legacy. However, if your aviation record is quite unusual, they may take that into consideration.

ED applications almost always get interviews, just FYI. Interviews are determined based on whether there’s an available and willing alum in your area- which is much easier during the ED period because there are less applicants.
