I think you're supposed to receive an email after 5pm on 5/10.
seychell, are u transferring to CC or SEAS?

CC...philosophy

yourself?

I was under the impression that they will mail (not e-mail) letters out around the 15th. But I could be wrong.

i have a friend who transferred in last year, he said he heard right around the 15th (i assume he meant 13th or 14th)

(also seychell can you link to the thread)

seychell,

I'm trying for SEAS. Good luck on transferring to CC:)
Also, although the std. date of decision release is 5/15, you really do get emails from the school on 5/10.

doesn't look good for me =(. i got this e-mail last week

Thank you for your application to Columbia College.

As you should be aware, Columbia College will grant a maximum of 64 points of credit to incoming transfers, equivalent to two years of full-time study. To earn a degree from Columbia, an incoming transfer must therefore spend a minimum of two years of full-time study here; if you have already completed more than two full years of full-time study, the loss of so much credit may make Columbia an inappropriate choice for the remainder of your undergraduate work.

It is also the case that Columbia does not accept transfers from most universities outside North America.

The transfer policy statement included below is meant to make our regulations clear. If after a review of these stipulations you still wish to pursue your candidacy for Columbia College, you should send an e-mail to **** to so indicate; you should be aware, however, that your admission would be considered extremely unlikely. Please inform our office of your choice by May 2, 2007.

Thank you in advance for your prompt cooperation.

fyi i'm in my forth year. agggh

oh no! dshjyd, I'm so sorry, that sucks!

what made you think they would allow you to transfer after your fourth year? I don't know of any college in the world that will give you a degree for work completed elsewhere.

I'm amazed you would even apply for a transfer during your fourth year...

well i applied knowing that I would pretty much have to start over. which i'm willing to do. i knew i would lose most of my credits

to each his/her own...

ill post the link soon to the older thread...fyi it was started 05/10/2006 (5?)

y don't we start an official transfer thread for Columbia like what other ppl did w/ Stanford and Berkeley?

By collegeconfidential-citizen's decree, I hereby christen this the official columbia transfer thread

...happy? lol...

Official...that's snazzy....!

since we've just been decreed official, which college, CC/SEAS, is everybody applying to?

i applied to CC for polisci and philosophy.

who here actually thinks they stand a chance? damn columbia for getting so many applications!

I applied and just had interview today with the HEOP office..so im waiting to see what happens. I think for transfers they shouldnt take all this time..i mean we all have gone through the college process and it seems silly that they take so long...If i were a school i would more likely accept transfers since they know what college is all about and are serious enough to transfer and to give up some credits just for a columbia degree..just a though i guess

I really think that first year students should be able to transfer in for the January semester.
