I wish I had applied to SEAS.......darn.....too bad I am not an engineering major!

goyounha,

same here, would u mind posting ur stats or PM it to me (just wanna compare)?

Nancy, I was waitlisted out of high school too :/

I posted my stats in the other columbia thread so you could check it there if you want. I've read your stats, which in my opinion, were better than mine haha ^^

Jeez, did anyone that got in apply to CAS?

idk...i am very disappointed, this is completely uncool.

Oh jeez not this again. You knew how tough Columbia College is. It's even harder than Dartmouth for transfers. Congrats to nancy/goyoungha on SEAS!

This is really upsetting... my friend just received her decision online and it said they couldn't make a decision b/c the requested materials were not submitted. Her dad was late submitting the tax forms, mailing them in a week and a half ago. They said it was fine but now look at the results...
She's always dreamed of going to columbia and I could see her getting in..
ugghhhhh, is there anything she can do now!?

Brand..honestly, we all had enough of your lil side comments. If I am not mistakened, you attend a community college. Yes, for you, getting into Columbia would probably be impossible (less than .00001 percent). But for some of us at already top notch institutions, it should not be that hard. But I guess it is.

HA! How full of yourself you must be. I just think it's funny that you think you're entitled to admission to Columbia/Dartmouth/etc.

What I'm wondering is, if your theory is correct, why were you rejected? ;)

No offense, Columbiahopeful, but you seem sort of like the kind of arrogant, elitist student they don't need any more of. Why don't you just revel in the fact that you already go somewhere "prestigious" and stop feeling put upon?

tell your friend not to be mad at her dad! columbia's admissions are need-blind, which means that late financial aid materials have no bearing on admissions decisions. i was in the same situation, and what i told you is what the financial aid office told me the other day. it must have been some other materials that prevented her from getting a decision.

alright, well I just checked her application materials and they were all submitted!! what else could it be; the only emails she received were regarding financial aid.

could it have been the statement of good standing from the dean? for some reason, that form is not found on the page that shows what materials have been received. they actually lost my original copy of that and never notified me about it. i had to fax them another copy of it a few days ago.

whatever it is, this is disgusting...
it's not even her fault and it's probably too late for columbia to change their decision

Yep, rejected. The weird thing is I don't even feel all that bad about it. Kind of expected it. Seemed a lot worse during high school rejections.

HELL YES I GOT IN YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!

congrats / condolences to everyone else!

Congrats P Reepa !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats!

Not to take away from his acceptance, but I believe he applied to SEAS. There is yet to be one person who got into Columbia College.

oh yeah, i'm an applied physics major where i am right now, so i applied to the program that fit me in seas. thanks brand and columbiahopeful, best of luck to you both.
