Columbia's acceptance rate increased

See CC, SEAS admit rate up to 7.4 percent

I haven't read the article yet but the headline alone shocked me. What do you think about this?

Edit: I just read it and I have to say that I'm not surprised. Since the number of applications decreased this year, I was wondering if they were going to accept less students for the sake of keeping acceptance rates low or accept the same number of students as they did last year. Judging by the increase, I think they probably accepted the same number as last year.

Last year, Columbia was the second-most selective, behind only Harvard. This year, Harvard and Yale were more successful (and Stanford probably was but hasn’t released their admissions data yet), but Columbia did manage to edge out Princeton.

Harvard hasn’t actually reported their admissions rate yet, but the Crimson speculates it will be around 5.5%.
