I'm a junior in hs and I was interested in the type of student Columbia likes.. are they more willing to take the well-rounded student or the student who has one true passion and runs with it?

If by well-rounded you mean a little bit of this and a little bit of that, I would think that this type of profile would not make you stand out in the crowd. If you really have a true passion and can show that you are dedicated to it, I think this would make more of an impact and would serve you better.

Columbia likes both. The well-rounded types that Columbia likes have more than "a little bit of this and a little bit of that"-- they're people who have stood out and made an impact in at least a couple different areas.
