COM ranking?

I’ve been hearing things that BU’s COM is one of the top communications schools in the country, but am not entirely sure of how true or untrue this may be. I know top journalism schools include northwestern, UNC-Chapel Hill, U Michigan-Ann Arbor, is BU up there? I read on another thread that BU was #2 to Northwestern in communications…I got into BU’s COM so I’m just kind of wondering how prestigious (or not) it is…I mean, Boston is a huge media-hub so i definitely wouldn’t think that it would be a BAD communications program…any opinions or statistics welcome.

Surprised a little that you aren't already aware of what a top program Com is and that it has a stellar international reputation. I don't think there is much point in ranking especialy with top schools since its apples and oranges. The fit and location are more important in my humble opinion. With both Howard Stern and Bill O'Riley as graduates you can say there is diversity too. lol

There are several threads below that go into COM in-depth so take a look. I'd also recommend the thread for the BU Free Press that has the BU TODAY link. You can click on the right under COM to go directly to COM news and their specific web site that might answer some of these questions. I'll bump it for you. Good luck.
