Com/smg Bucop

Hey guys,

Can anyone help me out? I really want to do a BUCOP between COM and SMG (I’m a freshmen in COM right now), and I know that that is hard work but is possible. SMG has a bunch of requirements and I saw that much of the second semester of sophomore year and first semester of junior year is ALL SMG classes - how best would it be to organize both requirements for both colleges in the 4 years here? I’m prepared to do summer classes if needed and overload as well. What’s throwing me off is that SMG has so many required courses that are hard to work around. Thanks for any help you can give me!

Talk to a BUCOP advisor right now. You need to get started on knocking out general requirements as soon as you can, and they can help you plot a path. The good thing is COM and SMG have a lot of similar liberal arts-y requirements, so you can double dip if you will. Most BUCOP students I know overload every semester beginning their junior year. Mostly I would worry about junior year, because that's when SMG students do Core, which is an intense, team-based project. But as long as you're willing to do the work, it's totally possible.
