Combined BA/BS or MS in mechanical engineering?

I'm currently enrolled in a liberal arts college that offers a 5-year BA/BS program in physics and engineering with a respected university nearby. I'm interested in becoming a mechanical engineer, but was wondering about the types of work/jobs available for me with a BA in physics and a BS in mechanical engineering, as opposed to a BA in physics and a MS in mechanical engineering, which I've been told is also an option. I've just started college and would like to determine which path I should take early on. If there are any licensed engineers who could comment on what work they do with their degrees, that would be helpful.

I would go for the MS. I highly doubt any employer will care about a BA in physics to be honest.
