Combined Meds

Hi guys-

Im thinking about applying to some ba/md programs and I really have no idea how hard they are to get in to. I'm assuming extremely difficult but any knowledge you have would be useful.
Some of the ones I'm considering are: Northwestern, USC, Penn State, VCU, and UMKC. My chances?

GPA: 3.86
Weighted GPA: 4.51
SAT: 2100 but retaking
ACT: 32 but retaking
High School is extremely competitive: ranked #34 by US News and #59 or so by Newsweek (in the nation)

450 community service hours-camp counselor, fairs, fundraising, volunteer organizations, etc.
Extracurriculars:
A year of track, Event Organizer or Hindu Culture Club, Treasurer of Wootton Health Organization, Executive Officer of Future Docs of America, NHS, SNHS, and Patriot Ambassadors..some **** like that
National Institutes of Health summer intern: doing research and whatnot, I'l be working there during the school year as well.

Any info would be great. thanks

i know usc and northwestern's hpme are very tough to get into. i don't really know about the others, but i have heard some bad things about umkc. there is tons more information on the combined program board.

You may have done this already but I may have missed or it might be in a program you listed but to really be considered for those programs you need like 250+ hours of work in a hospital.

^Not necessarily, it would help, but all you really have to do is demonstrate a * real * desire to go into medicine (and you have to really stand out from the hundreds of other applicants vying for the very limited spaces in these programs).
