Combined Program in Medicine

In the futuer, I plan to work towards the title of MD. For quite some time time, the plan was to simply major in a science, and later apply to medical school. However, I have now looked into combined programs such as the one present at Uconn. My question: if I apply to, say the Uconn combined program, and I get rejected, am I entirely rejected from the school, or am I still considered for admission to Uconn as a regular student.
Thank you!! :)

Call the school to find out or search online.

In Northwestern's HPME and Brown's PLME - they'll consider you as a regular applicant even if you don't get into their accelerated program.

I applied for the Rice/Baylor program last year. What they did was Rice first looked at my college application, accepted me, and then forwarded my combined program application to Baylor and then they took a look at that. Then they decide to invite around 50 people to the interview stage and finally, they choose the combined program acceptees. Therefore, even if you aren't accepted by the medical school, you're still accepted to the undergraduate school.

I believe most other combined programs work like this as well.
