Combining a writing section from a previous ACT testing with recent ACT W/0 writing??

Is there a way to combine a writing section from a previous ACT testing with an ACT w/o writing score?

SO i took the ACT on a date about 7 months earlier than my most recent ACT testing and I received the following...

ACT Composite-26 {english-28 math-28 reading-24 science-24} and writing-8

my most recent testing on the ACT was w/o the writing section and i received the following...

ACT Composite-31 {english-32 math-34 reading-29 science-27) & no writing

SO MY QUESTION is this...

COuld i submit both scores to a college that requires the ACT plus writing? WOuld this suffice? and if so, would they take a closer look at my ACT with writing and sort of not pay attention to my 31 on my second testing?

ANy kind of help here?! THANKS!!!

For colleges that require ACT w/writing, it is generally unknown what they will do if you meet that requirement with one ACT and then also send an ACT w/o writing. Most simply don’t say, one way or the other, whether they will consider the ACT w/o writing and the only way for you to find out is to call the college. One I am aware of, UIUC, will consider the one w/o writing.

thanks and more?

Many schools “superscore”, that is they take the best you did from each test taking session and make that your score. In your case they would take your second test w/o writing, since every score was better, and just add the writing from the first w/o caring about the lower scores in the other sections. You could ask the admissions department in the schools you care about the most if this is what they do.

SHoot thanks!! does anyone know about JHU, Cornell, or Brown?
