I took the ACT state exam and got a composite score of 35-Math 36
-English 35
-Science 34
-Reading 33
-No writing section...the state is too cheap for that!

My ACT scores are better by far(at least I think so) but all of the schools that I wish to apply to require the writing section if you submit the ACT. So, I was wondering...if I submit my ACTs, will they just toss them without looking at them just because they don't have the writing section? Is there a possibility that they could take the best scores from the combination of the tests?(i.e. use the SAT writing score, but the ACT for everything else).

Let me clarify a little bit here...
I am planning on submitting both, I just want to be fairly certain that they will look at my ACT score despite the fact that it has no writing. The reason is that I plan on applying to MIT and other such crazy nerd type schools (I don't have much of a chance of getting in, but whatever), and my SAT math scores are not so hot compared to their percentiles. Basically, I want to know if they will look at my ACT math score, with the not so good SAT one along side it(I have to submit my SATs because I need a writing section somewhere), will look good enough the admissions people that I won't have to take SATs again.

That's a good question... maybe you can try calling the Admissions Office at particular schools that you're looking at and ask them the same thing. I don't know how strict schools are when they say they only accept the ACT with writing, so your best bet is to ask them.
