Combining scores?

Why is everyone starting to combine scores from different sessions?

I mean I thought colleges look at your best score from a SINGLE sitting?

A lot of the top colleges (Harvard, Princeton, Stanford) will take your highest composite score. So, you were slightly misinformed. If there are any changes in the way colleges look at scores, it is probably because of the change in format of the test. Otherwise, most of the top colleges will take your highest combined.

But what do you care, you have a 2380 highest combined don't you?

Yes but this is really unfair...i mean 250 250 800, 800 250 250, 250 800 250...you get my message right?

ps how do uc schools look at the sat? its best from 1 sitting?

btw hows my chances @ cal, la, sd and irvine?

2340 sat
2.8gpa
no ec
no ap
800 chinese
750-800 us history

ps2, so is it wise to focus on my writing next time and neglect the rest? eg w800 m700 v650?

Not really. Who do you know who has scores like that? Who does anyone know who has scores like that? Scores fluctuate from test to test, but not that wildly. The highest score cuts you some slack and demonstrates your highest potential. This makes it less a consideration of your testing endurance and how well you sit through three hours and forty-five minutes of testing and more on how well you actually took the test.

The UC schools might look at it as the best in one sitting.

You mean 3.8 gpa, don't you? And you must have some EC's.

2.8 and no ec. i don't think i did more than 20% of HW.

and hmm of course i presumed the scores to be so wildly different to show how some people will just focus on 1 part of te test in order to achieve the highest score on that section alone. lets say a guy can score 2300. but he scores a 2100 with 800 on math..etc etc

2.8 on a 4.0 scale? With a 2340, that might be perceived as laziness. But if the guy can achieve such high scores, it demonstrates his test-taking ability, doesn't it? It's not like he's cheating.

ya 2.8/4

but i don't think you can use the word lazy on me because if you do, all of the other lazy pp would be diligent workers...

Well then, I'll call you lazy and seem super-diligent in comparison, fair? :-P

If you actually did the work, your GPA would be a lot higher, wouldn't it? I don't know, I just think colleges might look at it a little funny...how would you explain it?

i don really know because i got really easy college prep classes...but if us is like china whih looks at test scores only, i would have straight A+

anyways..lmao digressed from main topic

so hmm anyone can answer my question?

sorry, the 2.8 gpa won't cut it at the top colleges, even if you have a 2400.

i know already..but hmm haha topic please

blah cant resist....top colleges as in HYp or UC

sorry but no way.. 2.8? eek.. and same with no aps or ec's?!?! you must have some.. rightt.. :/

does anyone else know any other colleges that combine ur highest scores? im pretty sure a lot do because most colleges treat the subtests of sat i as just another sat ii- and they normally only look at ur highest sat ii

faith, i don't

and sat, i truly hope there is not such a loophole that ppl can take advantage of..

wait, for the ACT do colleges combine to get the highest composite?
