Combo of majors...

Okay, I am very confused right now as to what I should major in.

I think my ideal job would be to analyze social, economic, and political problems, and write about them. So I guess I should probably do some kind of Journalism/Int. Relations/Economics combo.

But another part of me wants to major in Finance/Business Mgt. I don't know what to do....

you could major in philosophy, politics, and economics (PPE) available at Penn, Denison, Claremont McKenna, Oxford, and some other schools.

Public Administration/Public Policy Analysis could be right for you. Maybe a combination of political science and journalism. You can always go back for your MBA (ask yourself, though, if you really want to do business or if you just see it as a pragmatic counterweight to liberal arts).

Public Affairs

sociology?

Most journalists don't do journalism as a major. Many journalists advise people not to, although others advise them to.

Look for schools that fit your comfort as far as location and atmosphere go. Then consider the programs they offer. Most will have poli sci, sociology, philosophy, economics, and English. Look for business if that really interests you. This will be more rare, as might international relations.

Research various subjects and think more about which you want to study. Be willing to let your preferences change.

Consider looking into antrhopology, geography, cultural studies, american studies, media studies, and communications. Also look at schools that have class offerings and allow you to make your own major. But don't worry too much about the particular program- you will likely change your specific preference, and it might limit where you apply.
