Comcast Rips You Off!!!!

UGHH these guys are capitalist pigs!!! they have a monopoly on cable unless you can get satellite (clear view of the southern sky) so get that if you can and avoid these rat bastards!!!

they're charging me $200 a month for internet, cable, and phone!!!

ATT is gonna charge me $20 for internet, and i'm gonna cancel my phone and internet from comcast and just get cable w/o extra channels.

these guys are rat bastards!!! not only that, they DARE to charge me for service calls to fix THEIR connection problems!!!!

UGH ¡tenemos que ponerles en la pared!

sorry to vent, but a warning to those who get duped into the comcast triple play crap.

I dont understand your problem at all, comcast is charging you $200/month for those 3 services??? So, first of all, when you decided to get this service, did you bother to ask how much it would cost a month, I mean, if you just called and activated this service without getting all the details, then its your fault. Why dont you make sure how much stuff costs before you agree to the service next time.

no i did dood, it was at first supposed to be like $150, but then they get u on the fine print, like...they charge for the cable boxes and the modem and they charge for service.

i thought it'd be cheaper since like....it's supposed to be a discount when u get the whole package, but it effing sux and they treat u like ****.

They only charge that once, right? So it should still cost $150 a month (which I think still seems overpriced). AT&T internet seems popular in the apartments.

yah it sux, i've been having problems the last 2 months. i'm dumping them, the problem is you can't get any other cable in berkeley and there's trees in front of my balcony so i can't just get direct TV. it really sux. ugh just frustrating

I posted this in an earlier thread. If you figure all the costs and take out the special deals, in the end getting a land line, DSL internet, and cable is cheaper than Cable and Cable Internet.

Don't get duped by these packages.

how much does it cost w/o phone?

Next year, I will need to get Comcast, because I will need cable TV.

You can't have DSL with AT&T without some kind of landline phone subscription.

just get the basic land line - local calls only. it's ~10 bucks a month

anon5524485 - Their DoublePlay plan is $66 a month, plus $3 a month for renting the cable box.

I’m using Comcast for my apartment and it’s been just fine for all of us. We’ve got the DoublePlay package (internet + TV) and we pay $69 a month as expected. Of course you need certain hardware to have internet access and digital cable TV. Depending on the nature of this box (they may throw it in for free if it isn’t high-level hardware, like our cable box; I’ve seen Comcast charge for bigger/fancier boxes, though), you can either pay for these in full or rent them for a monthly fee. This is all standard stuff here, punkdudeus. Officially they offer a service, but you need hardware to use that service. Come on, you’re a UC Berkeley student! ALWAYS read the fine print (what reason do you have to not read it? At the very least skim it!)!

This is the real world, there’s fine print to be read everywhere :)
