Come on, you know you want to check out my super cool college list! :)

I am thinking about these colleges (15):

Stanford
U Penn
Cornell
Dartmouth
Harvard
Duke
Columbia
Yale
Northwestern
Berkley
UCLA
UCSD
JHU
U of Chicago
Brown

I am basically open to anyplace, looking at pre-med. Could someone make suggestions to my list. I need matches/ safeties... or cut out maybe 1-2 from the list. Ok i know my list is top-heavy (yes prestige-whore :( ), but my thinking (dont hurt me) is that if i dont make it into those ones, i would go to berkeley.

Stats-wise:
SAT Reasoning Test: 2340 highest (1580 old) 2320 one sitting (1560)
800 Us history 800 IIC 760 Writing (Both old SAT II and new weird huh? :) )
4.0 UW Rank: 1, shared/ unweighted out of 600ish
Will have taken 9 APs by grad
OK-Good Essays
Great Recs
scientific research (intern)
captain xc team, 4 varsity letters
president of several clubs
minor community service awards

Thats about it! Nothing exceptional, just well rounded (which is bad now i guess :\ .)

out of curiosity, why all the ivies except for princeton?

lol good question. I HATE PRINCETON... JK JK
Its because princeton requires a science SAT II which I never took. (I took physics last year, and I wasnt all that great so I just stuck with IIC, history, and writing.)

Top-heavy isn't a problem if you got sure-in. And you've already got quite a few in UCs!

I think you need to cut your list quite a bit- 15 schools is a bit much, and many of them don't seem to make sense. Duke and U Chicago are completely different, for example.

Do you have any criteria at all? Size, location, majors, etc.?

I think the common criteria is prestige, which I think is perfectly acceptable if you can adapt to any environment.

But with colleges like Stanford Penn, UChicago, Duke, Brown, Berkeley, (schools with multiple unique essays)... o man you're not going to have a winter vacation this year.

I second that. Cut out chicago. You have to write a lot for them, and you'll already have your hands full with the others it looks like! :D I in no way endorse prestige whores

JHU's essays are also quite a hassle.

Thanks for everyones input. haha fortunately i finished stanford's app (EA) at least! :)

whatever you do dont take out penn...its incredible

Stanford / Harvard / Yale - Big reach for anyone
U Penn / Columbia / Dartmouth / Duke / brown - reach
Cornell / U of Chicago / NW / JHU - high match/low reach (btw, i got into these 4 schools and I consider them all peers and all 4 share the same applicant pool) It either of these 4 schools, you will find kids who got into all of them at each of these schools. At Cornell, there are a TON of Jstudents who got into JHU and NU.
Berkley / ucla / ucsd - safety
