I have an audition for Pace coming up in February and I've been thinking about singing Come to Your Senses. Is it inappropriate for a male to sing a song originally sung by a female? If not, would I be able to use the original Key if I wanted to?

Short, simple and to the point. Yes, it is inappropriate. While all things are possible, you may end up being that one exception to the rule. However, I wouldn’t count on it. Normally, potential students who do cross-gender pieces are at a tremendous disadvantage.

The thing is, they wouldnt absolutely rule you out. But they would definitely question your reasoning for it. I think if you keep looking you will find age/sex appropriate songs for yourself. There are literally thousands out there. It is much better to play it safe that way.

DO NOT gender bend musical theatre, unless you are going for a gender bending role in a specific production. Gender bending works in pop/rock, but not MT.
