When we arrive at Albany International Airport, will there be some kind of transportation that can help take us to RPI? Are there bus or taxi that help drive RPI students to campus? Thanks.

I had the same question. Everyone said taxis were the easiest though. Ws hoping for an RPI bus.

A taxi is about $20.

Sent an email to RPI Admissions asking if there are RPI airport busses. I’ll post the answer when it comes through.

Their response …

“A cab will be best (and easiest) from the airport on Saturday morning. The welcome will take place at the East Campus Athletic Village (ECAV), so that would be the best place to be dropped off. You can give them the address 1900 Peoples Avenue, which will get you to the corner of Burdett and Peoples Avenue. Once there, direct them to go up the hill toward the field house, and follow the road around to the right. Continue up the hill and you will see ECAV (and a lot of people!) off to the left. This is where the welcome will take place. For pick-up later, the Student Union Horseshoe is an easy, central place for cabs to find. This is located at the corner of 15th Street and Sage Avenue.”

For future reference, the school does offer shuttle service to the airport, amtrak, and bus station during the Thanksgiving, winter, and spring breaks:

You could take a cab there. Not sure how much it would cost. However, here are directions if you wanted to rent a car.

Take a left out of the airport and continue down that road to Wolf Rd.

Take a left on to I-87 North

Take Exit 7 to Route 7

Route 7 will become Hoosick St.

Take a right onto 15th St. (There should be a McDonald’s at the corner)

You should arrive on the RPI campus shortly thereafter.

Hope this helps!
