comm majors?

please post your stats! i'm wondering if i should still keep comm as my major. i need to know stats of people who got in. thanks guys =)

You cannot enter UCLA as a comm. major. You must enter undeclared. Then you apply for the major after you have completed 45 UCLA units. Applications are taken in the fall only now so for most that means fall of sophomore year or possibly fall of junior year. It is very impacted and highly competitive based primarily on your UCLA gpa. You would need about a 3.8 or higher. They advise you have a back up major and take some lower div in both until you are accepted.

i'm a transfer student...would it be possible for me to apply as a different major, then when i get accepted...switch into communication? I know it seems impossible but i do have all the pre-reqs for comm done.

I would hate to give you incorrect information so you should go to the comm. studies website at Welcome To The Communication Studies Department — Communication Studies and click "staff" and send someone an email with your questions. If you are transferring in as a junior I would thik you would apply as a comm studies major. If you don't you would have to enter as another major and then apply for comm in the fall. But that would mean not officailly declaring your comm major until the spring of your junior year. Maybe that's not a probalem. Also there is no guarantee you would get into the major. It is very competitive and you need at least a college 3.7 or so gpa. I'd email the dept. so that you get correct info. Good luck!
