I'm currently a rising third-year that was accepted into Mcintire and have recently been thinking about applying to Law School. Is it counter-intuitive for me to be taking such a business-oriented schedule, especially if I am leaning towards law school? And also, since GPA is all-important for law schools, would I be better off just remaining in the Comm School because of the "inflation" the department is said to have? Thanks

Major doesn't really matter. Just continue to get a high GPA and rock the LSAT, which is probably more important than GPA.

Why are you interested in law school?

I've always been intrigued by the law and actually entered college with the intention of attending law school, possibly the corporate/econ side. Lately I've been doing some research (as well as taking a practice LSAT) and I really dont see any reason not to apply. I think I'd have a solid shot for the T14s. Its also about options and I would love to have some to pore over during 4th year.

Wait until you take comm law (Comm 341) and you'll be wanting to go to law school, haha. But no one particular law school is going to notice if the comm school (versus CLAS) has a higher overall GPA, so definitely use it to your advantage.

My experience--doesn't matter what you major in for law school. Comm school would definitely prepare you better for Corporate and Tax law courses. Being able to write well is also a big plus for law school (and practice) success

I'm going to echo a lot of people here and say go for it. I have a lot of friends in the law school who went from comm school to UVA law, so you're fine.
