I'm just checking. If my son is ONLY commended and not semifinalist, he should also be getting a letter as well, correct?

To the best of my knowledge, yes, and sometime in late September a few weeks after NMSF’s have been announced.

Does anyone know if National Merit Commendable notifications have been sent out. My D received a score of 206 and we have not yet received a letter. Also, I can’t find anything on the web which indicates the required score for commendable merit scholar. Any one know of one? THANKS

My son was called down to the guidance office today at school and given his certificate.

Is there one national merit score for commendable? If yes does anyone know the cutoff. Thanks.

According to studypoint.com the cutoff is 202. This is a national cutoff.

I believe the cut off for commended is 200 this year. It was 202 last year.

200 was the commended cutoff for those who took the PSAT in October, 2011. It applies to everyone nationwide who took the test that month.

S scored 207, but has not been notified by his HS yet. Thoughts as to how to proceed? It’s an issue only because we would like to list it as an award on the Common App!

Yes I have also not received notification. I got -a 216 from CT
