I live in Washington State and I got a 214- where do you think this will get me? Commended, at least? Possibly semi-finalist?

National Merit semi-finalists are the top 1% in each state -- thus cut off for Montana for example is 210, whereas in Mass it's about 223. However, commendations are the top 50,000 scorers nationwide. Trombone - I don't know about Wash, but you can look up qualifying scores for previous years. You'll def. be commended, and probly a shot at semi-finalist.

The list is in post 39 in the long PSAT thread

According to my score report, approximately 1.3 million test-takes who meet the program entry requirements will be considered for an award. About 55,000 of these students will qualify for recognition. If the only requirement is being a high school junior (are there more?), this means that a score at the 96th percentile would put you in about the top 52,000 scorers. Am i missing something?
