Comments on my Fall 07 schedule?

CHEM 321 (Orgo) - Recitation/Lecture/Lab

MAT 126 (Calculus B)- Lect/Rec

PHY 121/123 - Lect/Rec/Lab

PSY 103 - Intro Psych

I orginally was going to take Orgo Lab next semester, but I was signed up that way at orientation and realized I want to be taking the lab simutaneously with the lecture to stay on top of things, (also because the lecture material is fresh in my mind). I am taking physics for the MCAT that I am anticipating on taking Summer 2008, and Psychology for a General Ed. that I am also interested in. The Math is a major requirement, Orgo is a requirement, and Physics is a requirement, so I will be able to kick back a little junior year.

Will I die from this schedule? I am a biochem major moving into my second year. I am a HIGHLY motivated student, and I am definetly not a slacker (3.8+ GPA Last year at my previous college in Bio, Chem, Math, Gen Ed, admitedly though, the school is no where near as strong at SBU in science), so please take that into consideration. I also may be doing research (hopefully for credit), and I am going to apply for SBVAC (Stony Brook Volunteer Ambulance Corps).

you will not die lol.
mat 126 is easy enough [if you like calc]. phy 121/123 is really fun if you have hemmick as a prof and its really easy for college physics. psy 103 is interesting and easy enough [lots of reading but thats all].

good luck!

Agreed. Psych 103 is a piece of cake, and Hemmick will make physics fun (as he does). Any man who puts on shades and plays a saxophone to teach a lecture about waves is going to be better than your average prof. Mat 126 is pretty easy too, as long as you keep up with your homework.

Orgo will be your toughest class, so expect to spend more time studying here than your other classes. It's graded on a true curve (the class average becomes the C, plus or minus a few modifications), so you'll be competing with the rest of the class for the top spots, but stay focused and you'll be fine. Just a note for the future: biochem is graded the same way, and it's quite a bit harder than orgo; consider orgo mental practice for biochem next year.

that looks fine. just make sure you can manage your time well with all the other extra cur. that u plan to do. =]

Thanks guys. the administration at SBU likes to scare the new students, telling them that you will struggle through a courseload like mine.

Anywho, nice to hear it from the students.
