Recommendations should be okay, essay might be okay at least... gah.

Yea... help on list?

Wow...that list is all over the place. You might want to first decide the size of the school you are looking for and possibly the location. You might also want to consider if you want a city enviroment (such as IIT, etc.) or more rural enviroment (such as Rose-Hulman, etc.). All the schools are excellent...I would think these factors would be important in honing in on the right school for you. Don't just go to the highest ranked place you can get into - go to the place that fits what you want out of college.

I agree with previous post, start with identifying what factors are important to you about a school: size, location, social culture, city-suburban-rural, and so on. Then you can look at academics. There are many colleges that will be matches for you. One important consideration, how happy would you be at Rutgers? That will be a safety for you given your in-state status and stats. If you feel that you would be happy going to RU if that was the only school you were accepted to, then you can feel much more comfortable including a number of reaches on your list. Otherwise you will need to fill your list with mostly matches and at least one safety where you WOULD be happy to go. Remember, the happiness factor will be determined mostly by factors that are not necessarily related to the prestige or USNews ranking of a college.

look at lehigh for a match/safety- they have a fabulous engineering program
