I got accepted to the business school and have to decide between multiple schools. Does anyone know what Villanova is ranked overall as a school and its business school? I looked them up on US NEWS and WORLD REPORT and they aren't even ranked on there.

Also, how good is the recruitment by ibanking firms there? Do they have good placement at firms?

The rankings don't mean much. For example, although Villanova's business program is ranked somewhere around 80th, some of the most prestigious companies and Investment Banks come to recruit there.

Lehman Brothers and Goldman Sachs recruit at Villanova and that should give you some indication of their business program.

do you guys mind if i asked what your scores/gpa were, beacuse i got waitlisted today and was quite shocked. i really want to go to villanova, and was wondering if i still have a shot. thanks.

sorry to hear that ady, I had a 3.6 UW GPA at a competitive prep school in NY and a 28 ACT. I think my best thing was that I had an extensive resume of business entrepreneurial things I've done. I also had a really good essay and EC's.

i was accepted, with no merit money with a 700 m 650 cr, 660 wr, 600 math ii, 650 us history II, class rank 19/300, baseball captain, latin club pres/cofounder, nhs, numerous volunteer ec's, and a yar of xc, my uw is probs around 3.6

Do you think BU has a better management program? VU gave me more money...but i'm just unsure about the reputation of the college of commerce and finance.

rank:8/100
GPA:97
I hear the college of commerce and finance is one of the harder schools in VU to get into so I'm pretty excited/ surprised. Congrats to everyone else who got in...where else is everyone choosing between?

i also got into 'nova's c&finance 2010 and after looking at the 2004 placement stats, it looks really good but are the stats combined with their graduate program also?

I think the stats are just for the undergrad program. They have a really good business school that is well respected in NYC and Philly (if that's where you want to end up) - they are firmly intrenched with the big accounting firms (most students do accounting internships with one of the big guys) and have tight relationships with Deloitte and Touche, PriceWaterhouse Coopers, Goldman Sachs, etc.

They are actively trying to raise the perception of the business school and just hired the former dean of Dartmouth's Tuck to serve as the dead of the Business School. The facilities are also some of the nicest on campus. Hope that helps!
