I am running for a leadership position in my school, but I want to get an idea of how things are in your school. While being the President (or V.P./Secretary/Treasurer) of your student government, what other school activities/clubs (or sports) were you involved with? Can you describe how this worked out?

??????? .

I am secretary of my school for the past three years. I love it. It is an amazing organization and leadership/learning opportunity. I get to go to a lot of leadership conferences also and plan special events at school. However, since my school is really small, I think moderators for other clubs tend to not elect me to positions because they want everyone to "have a chance." Nevertheless, I would not trade it for anything. I think Pres. and Vice are more a popularity contest at my school, whereas Secretary and Treasurer are more of a qualified/slightly popular people.

Good Luck!!

My senior year elections are in two weeks!!

Oh, and I do a lot of stuff...copy editor of yearbook..on literary magazine, newspaper, senator of CSC, SADD...science fair..et cetera. However, I dislike sports. I play golf for fun though.

i wish leadership positions were given to students based on test scores. Down with democracy and up with technocracy!

oh yes crazyglue!

old thread, but I am still curious..

Is anyone a Student Council Official (i.e. Prez, Sec., etc.) and plays a sport(s) or is involved with several other activities? If so, how is your time managed? I know that in my school, the Prez is not really involved in any other activity or sport, and the same goes for just about every other official. Thanks

I was my class treasurer, secretary, vice president, and vice president during my four years of high school and I did gymnastics, cheerleading, band, key club, and I worked. It depends on what school you go to, but there was PLENTY of time to get involved in other things at my school. I loved it!

very nice.. Didn't you have to take care of your student gov. stuff after school? If so, when did you do all of the other stuff?
