The short answer section asks for a response of 150 words or fewer, but if you run your mouse over the top of that box it says that your response is limited to 6000 characters...same goes for the personal statement/essay. Which guideline should you follow? Is it okay to go like 20 words over the given word limits?

Also, for the Short Answer, even if it tells you to elaborate on just one activity, can you do 2 or 3 if they're related?

the 6000 characters is only a computer thing. The text box can only hold 6000 characters. But don't worry, 6000 characters is MUCH more than 150 words.

If you count all the words, most random text averages something six letters per word, not counting spaces. So, yeah, 6000 characters would be something like six times bigger than the 150 words you have as your target.

I'm pretty sure the 6000 character limit includes both the essay box and the additional info box together. If your main essay goes long, it gets continued in the additional info section.
