Alright, so I am inputting my activities into the activities section. One of my activities (volunteering at a hospital) I have a question about. Hours per week is 2 hours. However, I didn’t know how I should fill out the weeks per year. I am actively volunteering weekly so whatever number I put down is going to be outdated in a week. How can I note I am still volunteering, and so the weeks per year is going to continually increase? Would this be suitable for the additional information section? Thanks for checking this out.
I would say it’s the number of weeks out of any (past, present, future) 52-week period that you expect to volunteer. Something like the current average number of weeks per year.
Ohhhhhhh @vonlost , so it is the expectation, not necessarily the amount of weeks I have volunteered?
They want to know how many weeks per year you volunteer two hours per week. At the end of the school year you may need your supervisor to sign a form attesting that you indeed worked that many hours during year.
Say you just volunteer during the school year. That might be ~40 weeks per year. My kid didn’t encounter any colleges asking for proof of volunteer hours like that. Some high schools might if they have a service requirement. It gets a little tricky if you spent more hours one year than another (say you volunteered 2 hours a week one year, and 4 hours the next). My kids did their best to average the hours and weeks per year out. Schools aren’t really parsing those numbers, although they’ll notice if the are crazy high.
The thing is, I have volunteered 38 hours total (2 hours per week). This began mid-junior year and has continued into my senior year (the present). When they say “per year”, do they mean per school year or per calendar year or just a year from today? Like say I put 38 hours in the hours per year, are they gonna think I did 38 my junior year and am going to do 38 my senior year? Sorry guys, I’m really overthinking this. I appreciate the help though Thank you.
