Common App Activities Section

Does it go without saying that I need 10 to have a shot at competitive schools like UCLA, Berkeley, UMich, etc.? Or does anyone have experience listing less and still getting in to these places? Any thoughts would be great.

Quality > Quantity
Colleges don’t want someone who’s spread out too thin when it comes to activities; you won’t need 10.

No it does not. As states above, quality over quantity.

On this, if I have 10 activities, but some of them are one week things, should I include these? They’re important to me but aren’t as relevant to what I’m studying.

1/ Don’t hijack a thread; it’s rude to the original poster. Start your own discussion.
2/ You can list them, but one would argue that “one week things” aren’t that important to you.
