Common App Additional Information

So far in my Common App I've written my essay about running cross country and my short answer about starting my school's first competitive math team. I also want to be able to tell schools about what I've accomplished so far as NHS President such as starting a "going green" campaign for the school, record breaking food drive, talent shows, etc. Is it appropriate to write an essay about this and upload it to the additional information section, or is that not the purpose of additional information?

I personally would not write an essay about it. But… the EC section of the common app has a ridiculously dinky space to show tings like that. I would put “See additional information” in the space for NHS, then in the additional info put:

NHS Additional Information:

 • President 12th grade
 • Started “Going Green” campaign for school that blah, blah…
 • Managed record breaking food drive, collected X lbs of food
 • Coordinated talent show that raised x dollars for blank

In other words, bullet (but concisely) your NHS accomplishments. Gets them the info without making them read more paragraphs (believe me, ad coms do not want to read more text… they would like to have additional info on your accomplishments, but do NOT want it in essay format).

Alright, sounds like a pretty good way to do it, thanks for the advice!
