I am planning to apply to art colleges this year.
While going through the Common App site, I discovered that there is something called Arts Supplement.
If I am planning to major in visual art in art colleges (which means that I'm already sending the portfolio along with supplements each school requires),
is it necessary for me to fill out the Common App Arts Supplement?
If it is so, in which way should I submit it? via on-line or via mail?

You must submit the supplement online, some require via common app, some have their own websites. They always allow paper submission, but I’ve never heard of email.
The supplements are different between schools, it’s not just your portfolio, it has to be done the way they want it. Good luck!

It is not always necessary to do the arts supplement that is attached to the common app when applying to an art school. My dd applied to two or three schools that did not require it, since she was sending much more with her portfolio. If you have any question, call the school. You do not need to identify yourself beyond saying that you are a student applying and have a question for an admissions counselor (or maybe the person on the phone). Why do anything that you don’t need to when you must be very busy just getting the required work in?
