Hi,
Some people attach a one page extra to their common app that have short comments on a few particularly interesting EC or mention something about their hobby. Is there room for this online? Also, I see people writing huge essays. How restrictive is it on length, even though it mentions only 500 words?

There is a space online for "Additiona Information" so you can put that there.
The limit online is not 500 words actually. It's basically one page. You can see it in print preview to make sure it fits. As long as you stay to one page, you're fine (it fits like 700+ words)

The word limit for the required personal essay is 500 words, but for the additional essays you can write as much as you want.

My main common app essay was 680 words. It fit, nothing got cut off and it didn't affect my college decisions. shrug

I'm confused.. I thought there is only one essay for the common app?

Where does it say about the additional essays? I don't see it.

I think Sheepie means optional. Some schools will let you send in an optional additional essay.

There is only ONE main essay on common app.
